Ironton City Council approves partnership with Rice Lake Construction Group at April 7th meeting

(Ironton, MN) — The Ironton City Council heard from Rice Lake Construction Group concerning the City Water Plant during their first April meeting Wednesday night.
Deerwood Police Chief Mark Taylor, under his report spoke about the recent success of the Farm to Families Free Food giveaways in recent weeks.
Fire Chief Jeff Thompson discussed before the Council of applying for grants from the DNR for equipment upgrades.
Public Works Foreman Rob Augel spoke about needed improvements to roadways and sidewalks with the City.
A Representative from the Ironton American Legion requested adding a handicapped parking space and their ATV Safety Training class on June 22nd to take place on a vacant City lot, which were both approved by the Council. Sarah Portz of the Ironton FD Auxiliary presented ideas for a vendor event and car show for Council approval.
Luke Spajl of Rice Lake Construction Group voiced their interest in being the Construction Manager for the City of Ironton Water Plant.
The Council moved forward with hiring Rice Lake Construction Group with a pre-construction service of $5,000. Chicken and Honey Bee ordinance violations were discussed with further conversations on punishment to take place.
The Ironton City Council will next meet on Wednesday, April 21st at 6pm.
