Norman County Commission Reviews Latest Highway Department Building Proposal
Ada, MN — The Norman County Board of Commissioners again revisited the Norman County Highway Department building proposal at their first monthly meeting on Tuesday, April 6th. The county commissioners were presented with another building option that would include a wash bay and office space estimated at approximately $8.7 million. As the commission is still hesitant at pulling the trigger with such a large investment, Norman County Board Chair LeeAnn Hall says they plan to go to the public about the potential tax impact and gather feedback.
Although it comes with a big price tag, Hall remains adamant that this project is worth the investment.
Also at this week’s meeting, the Norman County Commission approved acting as a passthrough agency for Riverview Dairy, who is seeking a tax-free federal Industrial Revenue Bond for their project in Waukon township.
The Norman County Board of Commissioners also approved a Conditional Use Permit for Blakeway Seeds LLC. The next county board meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 15th.
