Hillsboro City Commission Approves Final Plat for Riverwalk Development; Discusses Pool Repair
Hillsboro, ND — The City of Hillsboro held their regularly scheduled meeting Monday night at the main street community center. In the Next step of the cities Riverwalk Development the city held the final plat public hearing on the project. During the hearing, the city approved a number of different motions, including rezoning and plotting. Mayor Terry Sando said this was an important step in the development of the project and allows them to move to the next step where developer Lowery Engineering will begin to advertise for bids within the next week.
Also, during the meeting commissioner Levi Reese ask for and received funding to further investigate leaking issues at the city pool. The commission approved to spend up to $50 Thousand to remove the liner and look at the concrete underneath and see if minor repairs will alleviate the issues at the pool. If the concrete is in rough shape and more money will be required Reese will bring it up with the commission further. Sando says that if additional funds are needed the topic of a replacement will need to be brought up again.
During the meeting, the commission received an update from Steve Swanson of AE2S about a couple of projects including that over the summer the company will be surveying the condition of the city streets for future construction projects. Also, the city approved donating $350 to the Hillsboro Stars and Strips flag project for 10 American Flags to be put up on city property during the year.
