Crow Wing County preparing for Property Tax Process
By Paul Vold firstname.lastname@example.org (4/6/21)
(Brainerd, MN) — Crow Wing County is sending out local property tax valuation notices to all property owners. These notices are to inform citizens of the assessed value of their property as of January 2021 based on sales of comparable properties between October 2019 and September 2020. The assessed values are then used to calculate taxes due and payable in 2022.
Crow Wing County takes into account numerous components and challenges of the property assessment process and issues to be aware of when reviewing the valuation notices. The processes do include A State Prescribed Process, the Time Lag, Confusion Factor, Assessment vs Taxes, and Slicing the Spending Pie.
Taxpayers are encouraged to contact the Crow Wing County Land Services Department with any questions they may have about their property’s valuation, classification, or property taxes. Taxpayers may contact the Land Services Departments at 218-824-1010, by email, or visit www.crowwing.us.
