AELC Hosting Pasque Flower Hike this Saturday
Fertile, MN — The perfect Easter weekend adventure will be taking place in the Fertile Sand Halls this Saturday, April 3rd. The Pasque Flowers are blooming, and the Agassiz Environmental Learning Center invites you to participate in a free guided hike to see pretty, purple flowers sprouting from the hills. Wayne Goeken, current Executive Director of the Agassiz Environmental Learning Center, encourages everyone to enjoy the forecasted nice weather and go for a hike to the see the scenery for yourself.
The roughly 1.5 mile hike to see the blooming Pasque Flowers will set foot at 10:30am this Saturday and should wrap up around noon. After that, visitors are welcome to grab a map and continue exploring on their own. Goeken says the Fertile Sand Hills and the surrounding 640 acres that encompass the Agassiz Environmental Learning Center is a hidden gem and one of the most unique and diverse areas in the entire state.
This next year will be the 30th anniversary of the City of Fertile operating Agassiz Environmental Learning Center. Goeken talks more about the history of the facility.
