Ag Month Discussion with Norman County Soybean/Corn Growers Association
Ada, MN — This week and the entire month of March we celebrate agriculture as part of National Ag Week and National Ag Month. The purpose of Ag Month and Ag Week, as well as Ag Day which was celebrated on Tuesday, is to increase the public’s awareness of agriculture’s role in modern society. Corey Hanson of the Norman County Soybean and Corn Growers Association joined R & J News recently and talks about the important role of agriculture in our community and across the world.
The Norman County Soybean and Corn Growers have played a big role in giving back to the community as well, including awarding scholarships, donating books to local libraries, giving to the local food shelves, and supporting ag education through the Norman County Fair.
National Ag Week encourages every American to understand how food and fiber products are produced, appreciate the role agriculture plays in providing safe, abundant and affordable products, value the essential role of agriculture in maintaining a strong economy, and acknowledge and consider career opportunities in the agriculture, food and fiber industry.
