Norman County Renewable Energy Ordinance Opens Doors for Potential Solar Gardens
Ada, MN — Throughout the state, solar gardens seem to be popping up all over the place, mostly near major highways and interstates. Clay County has several, including near Barnesville and along Highway 9 between Felton and Highway 10. But as of now they are none in Norman County. That could be changing, however. Norman County Environmental Services Director Garry Commissioner says the county commission recently passed a new renewable energy ordinance this year that opens the door for those large solar gardens.
Johansen estimates that it is very likely we see our first solar garden in Norman County sometime within the next two years.
