Mahnomen, MN — The Mahnomen City Council held their 2nd regular monthly meeting on Monday night, March 15th. At the meeting, the council continued moving forward with their Fire Hall renovation project. Mahnomen City Administrator Mitch Berg says the council authorized putting the project out to bids and noted that residents can now find out more information about the project online.
The Mahnomen City Council also adopted a new sign ordinance that would allow for larger signs along certain highways in city limits. Administrator Berg say their new ordinance will mimic that of Thief River Falls.
The council also approved hiring a new Public Works Superintendent. Interim Superintendent Scott Zortman will have his interim label removed and will take over permanently.
And Administrator Berg comments on the Federal Stimulus funding that will be distributed to local governments soon and some potential uses for it.
