Hillsboro School Board News & Notes from March 11th Meeting
Hillsboro, ND — The Hillsboro School Board held their regular monthly meeting on Thursday morning in the High School Library. Perhaps the biggest highlight of the meeting was the presentation from Elementary Principal Jon Dryburgh and High School Principal Terry Baesler in regards to the results of their annual NWEA tests and other assessments. Hillsboro Superintendent Paula Suda says the principals were very pleased to report almost all grade levels showed learning growth this past year during the pandemic.
The Hillsboro School Board had some discussions about their ESSER funding, which came via the CARES ACT. Superintendent Suda says there are a lot of unknowns regarding that and future funding so they are still working on how to best use those funding sources.
And regarding the COVID situation in the district, Superintendent Suda says staff will soon be finished with the second dose of the vaccine and the school will continue to implement a number of safety provisions until it is safe to do otherwise.
The Hillsboro School Board also approved an open enrollment, accepted their 2019-2020 audit, and completed a Superintendent evaluation.
