Areas Schools Trying to Plan for Prom with Little Guidance
Ada, MN — Prom season is just around the corner, and many area schools and parent-led committees are doing their best to plan for the magic night. However, they have been doing so without any real guidance from the state. Will post-prom activities be allowed? Will students be allowed to dance without masks? There’s a number of questions currently left unanswered, but Ada-Borup Superintendent Aaron Cook says they are doing their best to work with that they do know and be as creative as possible as well.
Superintendent Cook says they also talked it over with the school board to get their perspective and he indicates that they have been very supportive about the plans being made.
The Win-E-Mac School is continuing on with their Prom planning as well, but potentially without a dance. Principal Kevin McKeever says this a special night for the kids, and its important that they get the opportunity for that special night after missing out last year.
Some good news is on the horizons, however. Governor Walz is expected to announce his biggest roll back of COVID-19 restrictions today. He is also expected to release guidance regarding proms and graduations and allow more fans to return to live sports.
