State Senator Mark Johnson Comments on Potential Implementation of California Clean Cars Act in Minnesota
Fosston, MN — The annual KKCQ Farm Forum was held virtually on Wednesday on YourLiveEvent.com. It was hosted by Don Wick and Carah Hart of the Red River Farm Network and featured a number of speakers covering a variety of farm issues. Those speakers included State Senator Mark Johnson, Representative Deb Keil, Representative Steve Green, Congresswomen Michelle Fishbach, and Mike Skaug of the Ag Innovation Campus in Crookston.
During the Farm Forum, Senator Mark Johnson was asked about one of the hot button policies being implemented by the Walz Administration, the California Clean Cars Initiative. Senator Johnson stated that the policy would put Minnesota auto dealers at a major disadvantage and be all-around bad deal for Minnesota.
Senator Johnson says he and many other legislators in rural Minnesota have been fighting strongly against the Clean Cars Act, but notes that the best way to ensure that it doesn’t take effect is to elect a new Governor in the next election.
