Barnesville City Sells Out of Lots on 2nd Addition; Sets Date for Public Hearing on 2023 Hwy 9 Project
Barnesville, MN — The Barnesville City Council held their regular monthly meeting on Monday night, where lots of good news was shared regarding their housing and commercial development projects. The most exciting news, according to Barnesville Mayor Jason Rick, is that the 2nd phase of their housing development is now officially sold out, and lots in their 3rd phase continue to be purchased as well.
49 of the 60 lots in the 3rd Addition Housing Development are still available. Mayor Rick also noted that on the commercial side, the city is conducting a feasibility for further development in their commercial park as they are running out of space there as well.
The Barnesville City Council also set a date of April 19th at 7pm for a Public Hearing of their 2023 DOT Highway 9 and Front Street Project. That public hearing will be done via Zoom. Rick says that will be a major project for the city.
The council also had their 1st reading of an ordinance pertaining to use of Snowmobiles, ATVS, and Golf Carts. Mayor Rick says they modified their previous ordinance to meet current standards as they become more common on city streets.
A 2nd reading of the ordinance will be held at next month’s meeting.
