Fertile City Council News & Notes from March 8th Meeting
Fertile, MN — The Fertile City Council held their regular monthly meeting on Monday night, March 8th. It was announced at the meeting that the Fertile Community Club would be moving forward with the annual car show this summer. This year’s show will take place on Saturday, June 12th and the council approved the necessary business items for the show to happen, according to Fertile City Administrator Lisa Liden.
Last year’s Fertile Car Show was cancelled due to the pandemic.
In order to save time and costs, the Fertile City Council this week approved offering an incentive for customers to receive email billing as an alternative to having a physical copy mailed out.
Contact Fertile City Hall to sign up for email billing.
The Fertile City Council also continued to work on the amendment to their zoning code that addresses residents who are building a garage on a residential property prior to their being a house on the same lot.
And the council is still in the process of trying to find a replacement for their open council seat. Administrator Liden says they have a couple of qualified candidates considering the position.
At last month’s meeting, former Fertile Mayor Brian Nephew has presented his interest in serving on the council, but the council rejected his inquiry.
