Ada-Borup School Fundraising to Support Local Families Battling Cancer
Ada, MN — The Ada-Borup School this week has been making efforts to help local families dealing with cancer. This week in the elementary and high school they are doing their annual Pennies for Patients fundraiser. However, Ada-Borup Elementary Principal Bree Triplett says this year the money raised is staying local to help area families.
Each day this week focuses on a different coin. As Bree mentioned Monday focused on pennies, Tuesday was nickels, today is dimes, and Friday students can bring in quarters and dollars. There are also dress up days to coincide as well.
Just a few weeks ago, the Ada-Borup school lost a fellow student, Ethan Plemmons, to cancer. High School Principal Josh Carlson says they’ve had a number of fundraising efforts recently wrap up and were able to raise more $7000 for his family.
Anyone still interested in purchasing a window decal in support of Ethan Plemmons can contact Josh Carlson at the Ada-Borup School.
