Ada, MN — It may be hard to imagine, but a return to normal could be on the horizon this summer as the COVID-19 vaccine become more available. While it may be under “new normal” conditions a summer filled with fairs, festivals, concerts, and gatherings of all kind is within reach. Sarah Kjono with Norman-Mahnomen Public Health says they are started to field questions from event planners on how to proceed with summer activities. She encourages them to start planning with the current restrictions in mind, but being open to the possibility that guidelines will likely loosen as more people getting vaccinated.

Kjono added that schools-related activities such as prom or graduation are more likely this year than last year as most staff are already on their second dose of the vaccine and should have the opportunity to be fully vaccinated by this spring.

If organizers have specific questions regarding safe event planning, they are welcome to contact Norman-Mahnomen Public Health for guidance.
