Norman County Highway Engineers Previews Upcoming Road Projects
Ada, MN — Tar roads connect the communities of Ada, Borup, Perley, and Hendrum in the southwestern quarter in Norman County. However, if you’re traveling anywhere in the middle of that section it will most likely require gravel. Currently there is no tar roads between Highway 9 and Highway 75 that connect Highway 200 to County Road 39. That could change beginning in 2022. Norman County Highway Engineer Keith Berndt says they have a project in the works to pave County Road 10 that would essentially connect the Ada West and Perley beet pilers.
This year the major road project for Norman County is in the northwestern region. Berndt says they’ll be resurfacing 13.2 miles of highway on County Road 3 between the Red River near Shelly and Highway 9.
Braun Intertec was awarded the bid for that highway project, which will get underway this summer.
