McGregor School Board Work Session includes Building presentation, COVID-19 numbers down

(McGregor, MN) — The McGregor School Board held a Work Session meeting Monday night for a presentation on the Building Referendum and District COVID-19 updates.
Russ Schumacher of Nexus Solutions, LLC presented to the Board about the next steps of hte McGregor School Building Referendum after consulting with every aspect of the District.
The presentation covered the initial plans for a complete remodel of the School Buildings with secure entrances and an updated bus garage. Bids for the project are currently out and will be reviewed with a decision made at the end of February/early March. Representatives from Nexus Solutions will continue to update the Board through the process every second Monday of the month during their Work Session meetings.
Superintendent Brad Johnson updated the Board on the lowest COVID-19 numbers in Aitkin County in the last 5 months.
Aitkin County Public Health distributed COVID-19 vaccines to McGregor educators in the last week.
Johnson also mentioned bi-weekly COVID-19 testing continues to run smoothly.
The McGregor School Board will have their regular meeting coming up Monday, February 22nd at 6pm.
