Mahnomen County to Begin Using Body Cameras; Human Service Making Plans to Move Into Bank Building
Mahnomen, MN — Body Cameras are now being incorporated as a new tool for the Mahnomen County Sheriff’s Office. The Mahnomen County Commissioners recently approved a body camera policy at their second January meeting and previously approved a contract with Axon to purchase the cameras. Mahnomen County Administrator Jeff Cadwell says they approved a package deal for body cameras and new squad car cameras as well.
In other news from the Mahnomen County Commission, the county has a purchase agreement in place with Valley United Bank to purchase their building once they move into their new home. Cadwell says they are looking at any potential renovations that may be needed to move their human services department into that facility.
And while there were no newly elected commissioners this year, there was a change in leadership. Cadwell reported that the new Mahnomen County Board Chair is Darvin Schoenborn and David Geray will be the Vice Chair.
