(Aitkin, MN) — Aitkin Public Schools Superintendent Dan Stifter was back for his first update of 2021 with his focus on students coming back to the classroom and looking ahead for the rest of the 2020-21 school year.
Even with students and sports teams having to quarantine in most recent weeks, Superintendent Stifter says being back in-person is more beneficial for the whole District.
Making the return to full in-person learning on January 5th had a lot of teachers and students pushing to stay on track for the remainder of the school year.
This week was the first chance for Aitkin teachers to receive their first COVID-19 vaccination shots through Minnesota Department of Health pilot sites.
The District also continues to support students out of the classroom with technology assistance.
Stifter also talked about students getting involved with sanitizing classrooms, contact tracing protocols, and adjustments with wearing masks with high school sports. Listen to our full conversation with Aitkin Superintendent Dan Stifter here;
