Pillager Schools Update – 1/13/21
(PILLAGER, MN) — The Pillager School Board met for the first time in 2021 on Monday, January 11, so we spoke with superintendent Mike Malmberg to hear the latest updates with the school.
Malmberg started off by talking about the reorganization meeting, which took place before the regular board meeting, and involved welcoming in some new members to the board, electing officers, and appointing members to committees.
After that, the board heard the latest updates regarding distance learning; in particular, how things went in the fall semester in comparison to last spring.
An update on the school’s technology as well as its robotics program was also provided.
The board also agreed to a proposal to re-up on its food service agreement.
A key change was made to the school’s calendar: March 15, which was planned to be an off day for students, will now see in-person learning for the secondary school.
Finally, Malmberg gave an update on the current COVID landscape with the school and the board’s plans moving forward.
We thank Mike Malmberg for his time. Our full interview with him may be found below.
