New Mayor, Council Member Sworn in at First Breezy Point Council Meeting of 2021
(BREEZY POINT, MN) — The city of Breezy Point’s council meeting on Monday, January 4, represented a couple of “firsts” for the city. It was the first meeting the city held in 2021, and it was the first one under its new leadership: Todd Roggenkamp, the city’s newly elected mayor, presided over the meeting to usher in a new era for the city. We spoke with Roggenkamp to get the latest news.
Roggenkamp said that he, along with council members old and new, were sworn in and are ready to get going.
The city also finalized its committee appointments for 2021, and Roggenkamp noted that all council members and citizens who were serving on committees last year were re-appointed, establishing some continuity even with the turnover that was observed on the council.
One of the projects Roggenkamp and the council have already started working on is a joint road improvement project with the cities of Pequot Lakes and Jenkins as well as Ideal Township; Roggenkamp enlightened us on what that entails and what stage of the process they are currently in.
We thank Mayor Roggenkamp for his time. The city of Breezy Point will hold its next regular council meeting on February 1. Our full interview with Roggenkamp can be found below.
