Marketing Assistance Loans Through Your Local FSA Office
By: Dawson Peterson firstname.lastname@example.org (12/10/20)
Polk County, MN — The Farm Service Agency would like to remind producers of their Marketing Assistance Loans with the end of the year approaching. County Executive Director Nathan Peterson explains how the loans work and what you need to do to apply.
Market loan repayment provisions specify, under certain circumstances, that producers may repay loans at less than principal plus accrued interest and other charges. Alternatively, loan deficiency payment (LDP) provisions specify that, in lieu of securing a loan, producers may be eligible for an LDP. For ELS cotton, LDP provisions do not apply and ELS cotton marketing assistance loans must be repaid at the loan rate plus interest.
If you’re interested in one of those loans, Peterson asks that you give the FSA office a call before December 21st so you can get the proper paperwork started.
