Hawley, MN — For elementary students who either opt in to Distance Learning or are forced into Distance Learning due to a close contact, it may be difficult to adjust to education without constant supervision and guidance from teachers. Hawley Elementary Principal Chris Ellingson says to assist those students and their teachers, they have hired two full time teachers whose main objective is to help with the Distance Learning.
The Hawley School also now dismisses a half hour earlier at 2:30pm and encourages teachers to use that time to reconnect with their students and distance learning aides.
The district also has a full-time school nurse on staff. Ellingson says she is working around the clock to keep up with all that’s required this year.
