Win-E-Mac Principal Provides COVID-19 School Updates
Erskine, MN — In a year that’s seen many schools have to cancel multiple athletic activities, Win-E-Mac has seen its football team finish the regular season with all six regularly scheduled games intact.
Entering the playoffs with a 5-1 record, Win-E-Mac has kept itself upright, just as school principal Kevin McKeever has hoped for. When it comes to keeping his athletes on the field, McKeever has had to deal with a few obstacles in the process.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz passed an executive order that gives teachers to give themselves more hours, including additional prep time on top of teaching hours. With this new order, McKeever says this decision leaves his staff with many decisions to be made.
Despite McKeever’s annual Veterans Day program not coming to fruition due to COVID-19 related reasons, the Win-E-Mac principal still made sure old-timers felt appreciated. Young students also did their part in celebrating the holiday.
After Minnesota Governor Tim Walz extended his emergency peacetime powers for another 30 days, he then ordered all indoor and outdoor social gatherings should be limited to 10 people or less. With that, bars and eating establishments will be limited to to 50% both indoors and outdoors with, only allowing a maximum of 150 people and ending dine-in service at 10 p.m. McKeever wants families to know they can stay up to date with COVID-19 news on the school’s social media pages and website.
You can listen to Principal McKeever during the Win E Mac School News every Thursday at 2:05 p.m. on KKCQ Radio and online at rjbroadcasting.com
