Fisher, MN — The Fisher FFA Program is still holding out hope that there will be some sort of state competition later this year, but in the meantime will continue raising money for their competitions and other needs. Currently they are raising funds through the annual fruit sales. Fisher High School Principal Catherine Steinmetz says this year the orders are done all online and are delivered right to your door.
A link to the fruit sale is available on the Fisher School Facebook page or their school website.
The Fisher Ag class is busy with some new opportunities as well. Steinmetz says they just recently received a new CNC machine, and the new greenhouse is likely to be constructed early next year as well.
A special recognition is in order for Fisher Ag Instructor Kristin Schwarz, who recently achieved certification in Trident’s Virtual Classroom Management Program. Mrs. Schwarz is the first teacher in the state of Minnesota to be fully certified using a completely virtual format. These skills come in handy as she continues to teach agricultural classes via distance learning for her students.
Trident VCM certification requires demonstrated mastery of Trident’s proven nonverbal skills and strategies with students to effectively increase productivity, while utilizing influence and maintaining positive relationships.
