Aitkin Schools Superintendent Dan Stifter’s update with COVID-19, Levy

(Aitkin, MN) — Aitkin Public Schools Superintendent Dan Stifter was back for his monthly update of ISD #1 and also to reaffirm the Capital Projects Levy that is on the November 3rd Ballot.
Superintendent Stifter says the adjustments with students in-person and some choosing to distance learn have laid protocols to make sure no student falls behind.
Stifter also talked about how the District refers often to the MDH numbers in determining their potential changes in learning models.
Getting back to the Capital Projects Levy, Aitkin High School’s reasoning falls into many categories including the lack of funding from the community.
Beyond the need for technology, upgrades to transportation and buses are needed over the next 10 years.
