One-vehicle crash leads to pedestrian death in Brainerd

(Brainerd, MN) — The Brainerd Police Department responded Monday to a call of a single-vehicle crash featuring a pedestrian Monday evening.
Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Oak and SE 28th Streets in Brainerd to perform life-saving measures on the pedestrian that were unsuccessful. The pedestrian was identified as 65-year-old Paula Macarthur of Brainerd.
Macarthur was jogging southbound crossing Oak Street at the intersection of 28th Street when she was struck by an eastbound vehicle. The vehicle, a 1999 GMC Sierra truck, was driven by 18-year-old Hayden Cunningham of rural Brainerd, who was not injured.
