(Aitkin, MN) — The changing of the weather includes more hazards on the roadways and Aitkin County Toward Zero Deaths continues to inform the public on initiatives to keep everyone safe.
We spoke with Aitkin County Sheriff Deputy, and former TZD coordinator, Paul Bruggeman on how the number of fatalities on roads have been in 2020.
This past year, Aitkin County saw much higher traffic with seasonal visitors arriving early and staying later looking to escape COVID-19.
Also, with schools being back in session for the last two months, School Bus Stop-Arm Violations have steadily going down.
Deputy Bruggeman also spoke about hunting safety and recent work including scams. Aitkin County TZD holds their meetings, that are open to the public, on the 2nd Wednesday of the month. Their next meeting will be on Wednesday, November 4th due to November 11th being a holiday. Hear our full conversation with Sheriff Deputy Paul Bruggeman here:
