Mahnomen, MN — The Mahnomen School Board held their regular monthly meeting on Monday night, October 12th. At the meeting, Mahnomen Superintendent Jeff Bisek provided an update to the board on the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on the school district. Coronavirus cases are climbing in the county in recent weeks, and Bisek says that could have effect on their learning models in the future.
Enrollment in the Mahnomen School District currently sits at roughly 650 students, which is down about 30 students from this time last year. Superintendent Bisek says while enrollment dips are not uncommon this year at other schools, it’s a concern not just because of the funding loss but because there a number of families that have gone unreported.
The Mahnomen School Board also received their annual audit report at this week’s meeting, and Bisek says the district remains in good financial standing.
The Mahnomen School Board meets on the 2nd Monday of each month.
