(Aitkin, MN) — Aitkin County Public Health will be working with state agencies this week in hosting a Community COVID-19 Testing Site in the City of Aitkin.
Starting today and running through Thursday, Minnesota Department of Health, Minnesota State Emergency Operations Center, and Minnesota National Guard will be providing COVID-19 tests free of charge to those interested.
We spoke with Aitkin County Public Health’s Erin Melz and Brea Hamsdorf about the cost of testing and how to register.
Pre-registration can be done online or on-site. Testing takes around 10 minutes and all necessary safety and sanitation precautions are being taken at the testing site.
Melz says the testing offers the chance for people to confirm any suspicions that they either contracted or have been in contact with someone with COVID-19.
Community COVID-19 Testing in Aitkin will be at the Journey North Church Tuesday-Thursday, running Tuesday and Wednesday from 12-6pm and Thursday from 12-3pm. R&J Broadcasting, Inc will have more stories throughout the week on testing, statistics, COVID-19’s effects in our schools, and more.
