Granlund Lodge Torsk Supper
The Granlund Lodge of the Sons of Norway will hold its annual Torsk and Meatball Dinneron Thursday, October 15, 2020 in a new and creative way this year! Those pre-registered will drive up to the back door of the Embassy Center in Fosston, remain in their vehicle, and pay for their meal with exact cash or a check made out to Granlund Lodge. The meals will be safely boxed and bagged and handed out through the vehicle window. Enter in the alley from the east and exit on to Eaton Avenue from the back door. For only $10, the torsk and meatballs will be accompanied by mashed potatoes and gravy, all the fixings, and even “door prizes”, according to Susie Roland.
Also new this year is free delivery to shut-ins in Fosston which must be pre-arranged when registering. The Granlund Lodge and Sons of Norway events have been limited this year due to COVID, but Roland says the Torsk supper had the full support of district office.
The pick-up-and-go meal will start at 4:30 and go until 6:30 on October 15th. Please wear your facemask as you drive through. Everyone is welcome but must pre-register by Monday, October 12th, by calling either Wes and Susie Roland at 435-1230 or Harold and Roz Watnemo at 435-1140.
The Sons of Norway is a fraternal organization principally representing people of Norwegian heritage in the United States and Canada with a mission of promoting and preserving the heritage and culture of Norway and other Nordic countries. Roland and Roz Watnemo note that their monthly meetings typically feature presentations relating to Nordic culture and history, activities, and food.
