A Village Family Festival is set 11 .a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 8 at the Crosslake Historic Log
Village.

The Family Festival will offer fun for the whole family. There will be games, face painting and a scavenger
hunt plus pioneer demonstrations by area craftsmen. Visitors will have the opportunity to observe soap
making, wood carving, spinning, painting and much more.
This year’s featured attraction will be expert blacksmith Mike Hoffmann of Clear Lake. He will
demonstrate his skill in the blacksmith shop.
In the Learning Livery, Ollie Skurdahl will be educating visitors about early logging in the area with his
exhibits, photos and stories.
The village features 10 buildings that will be open for tours led by guides in period costumes.
These authentic log buildings were moved to the site, restored and furnished with exhibits to depict the
industries and daily life of early Crosslake.
This event is being sponsored by the Crosslake Area Historical Society.
The village address is 35404 Crow Wing County Highway 3 in Crosslake.
