Recognizing and preventing suicide training session set for July 13

How do you know when a friend, co-worker, relative or casual acquaintance is thinking about committing suicide? A special training session for anyone who wants to be prepared will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crosby and is open to anyone who wants to learn the potentially life-saving information.

The training is called QPR and stands for Question, Persuade and Refer. Those who take the training learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to help.

The training is an evidence-based Three Step National Training. There is one continuing education unit credit available for those who want it.

For more information, call Mary at the Crisis Line at 218-828-4515 or the Immanuel Lutheran Church at 218-546-5010.

More information is also available on the church’s website, www.immanuelcrosby.org and on the church Facebook page.
The program is free and open to the public.
