Walker-Hackensack-Akeley at Pine River-Backus
You can always expect a good match when W-H-A and PR-B hit the floor for volleyball. This was no exception. The visiting Wolves took a back-and-forth set that featured five ties and four lead changes in ‘extras’ 26-24 to open up the night. The second set was the anomaly as W-H-A pulled away for a 25-14 win and a 2-0 lead. The Tigers fought back with a 25-23 win in set three thanks to a late 6-0 run to put them ahead. Early in set four it appeared that Pine River-Backus had taken control of the momentum, but the Wolves regrouped and rallyed back. A 10-2 run put the Wolves back in front for good as they went on to the win and a 2-0 start. Pine River-Backus is now 1-1 overall and in Northland Conference Play.
