Recap

A 9-day layoff didn’t slow down the Aitkin Gobblers rushing attack in the Section 7AAA Semifinals against the Virginia Blue Devils for a 56-6 victory in the final game of the season for both teams.

Aitkin wasted little time by reaching the endzone in their first series on a 4th and 6 with Owen Miller running from 12 yards out. Miller would reach again before the end of the 1st quarter with a 69 yard scoring run. Austin Price and Hunter Nissen both scored on the Gobblers way to a 26-0 halftime lead.

Scoring was a plenty in the 2nd half as Owen Miller’s 3rd touchdown was followed 3 plays later with Virginia’s Jack Toman connecting to Tom Nemanich for a 10 yard score, as the Blue Devils trailed 34-6. Aitkin would round off the scoring with rushes from Jake Ince, Owen Miller, and Austin Price.

Aitkin finishes the year at 6-1 as Virginia falling to 4-4.
