Sebeka at Pillager
The Sebeka Trojans kept the Pillager Huskies winless on the season with a three-game sweep and a season sweep of their Park Region Conference meetings. One week after their first matchup, it first appeared things would be different as Pillager led a good chunk of the opening set. The Huskies, after a lot of back and forth point-trading, held a 16-13 lead when things changed. The Trojans got into a groove and finished the set on a 12-3 run for a 25-19 win.
Set two was pretty much all Sebeka. Tough serving and solid defense led the way for the Trojans as a 9-0 run pushed a one point lead to double digits and they cruised to a 25-8 win.
Pillager wouldn’t go down without a fight, but Sebeka continued to stand up to their well-known scrappy style. It was a good battle early, but a 4 point run after a 5-5 tie put the Trojans in front for good. They methodically pulled away, pushing their lead to as many as 11, and closed out the final set 25-16.
The Trojans improved to 3-4 on the year, while the Huskies dropped to 0-5. Pillager hosts Verndale Thursday.
