Waubun, MN — It was a four run first inning that got the Red Lake Falls Eagles going in the right direction and powered them to a 10-2 win over the Mahnomen/Waubun Thunderbirds on Monday afternoon.

Early defensive errors by the Thunderbirds allowed the Eagles to play the entire game with a lead and Pitcher Bella Amiot was able to get comfortable fanning 11 batters through 6 innings of work. The Thunderbird defense was solid in innings two through six, but they could never get their bats going scoring their only two runs in the fourth inning. Red Lake Falls took a 7-2 lead in to the seventh inning and plated three more runs in the inning to win 10-2 after sending the Thunderbirds down in the bottom half.
