EGF Sacred Heart vs. Northern Freeze

The East Grand Forks Sacred Heart Eagles are one win away from their first ever trip to the State Tournament after their 59-56 win over the Northern Freeze Tuesday night in Thief River Falls. The win secured the West Sub-Section 8A Championship for the Eagles and put them into Friday’s Section title game against the Cass Lake-Bena Panthers. Ethan Arntson hit three 3 pointers and led Sacred Heart with 16 points as the Eagles won their tenth straight game and improve their overall record to 27-3. Josiah Sundby also hit three triples and scored 15 points for Sacred Heart. Everett Nelson came off the bench and led the Freeze with 14 points. Maximus Klopp added 13 points for the Freeze as they end their season with an overall record of 17-11. It was the fourth win for Sacred Heart over the Freeze this season with Sacred Heart winning the two regular season games plus the conference championship game back on March 5th. Free throw shooting played a big role n the outcome of the game with Sacred Heart shooting 11 of 13 at the line and the Freeze going 3 for 4 at the stripe. The Freeze didn’t attempt a single free throw in the second half. Sacred Heart will play Cass Lake-Bena on Friday, March 18th for the Section 8A championship and a berth in the State Tournament (7:00 pm on 96.7 FM)
