The Fort Frances Muskie girls hockey team played the first 2 games of their best of 3 NORWOSSA championship series against the Dryden Eagles over the weekend.  On Friday, the Muskie girls fell behind 2-0 after 2 periods on the road before Paiten Kinnear scored early in the third on assists from Piper Miller and Jerzi Calder.  Dryden would then score 2 goals late in the 3rd for a 4-1 victory in a game that saw 22 penalties.  On Sunday in Game 2 of the series which was heard on KGHS and rjbroadcasting.com, the Muskies took to their home ice and got a first period power play goal from Piper Miller with the assist to Tatum Glowasky.  The second period was scoreless and Glowasky would score on a breakaway rebound in the middle of the third for the final tally of the game as the Fort shutout Dryden 2-0 to tie the series at a game each.   Jersey Masson was stout in goal and after the game said that no save was bigger than any other.

The series now heads to a decisive game on Wednesday in Dryden at 6:30 to decide the NORWOSSA championship.  The pregame starts at 6:10 on KGHS 1230 AM, 95.3 FM and rjbroadcasting.com.
