The Fosston High School is piloting a new program from a company with a familiar name, Jostens. Yes, the same company you ordered your class ring from when you were in high school. The Harbor by Jostens is a  weekly online video series that builds character in students in middle and high school. The video series features Mike Smith, a professional inspirational speaker who specializes in speaking to students and professionals about topics like bullying, substance abuse, leadership, and pursuing passions.

Dominic Krump, Fosston High School Principal said they are starting the Harbor program at the Junior High level and as they see positive results may expand it to grades 9 through 12.

According to Jostens website, the Harbor by Jostens brings attention to the complex issues facing today’s youth. Often these issues make their way into the classroom, affecting their studies and self-worth. The Harbor gives students character-building tools, real-life perspectives, and a forum for discussion by addressing the challenges and opportunities they face on a daily basis.
