The Minnesota Department of Transportation has enacted a no travel advisory on state and federal highways in Clay County, as well as Highway 108 from I-94 to Pelican Rapids due to dangerous driving conditions. This includes Interstate 94 from Moorhead to Highway 108, and Highway 10 from Moorhead to Hawley. Blowing snow is causing whiteout conditions. Snowplows will continue to operate, but motorists are advised not to travel until conditions improve. For tips on safe winter driving, go to www.mndot.gov/workzone/winter.html. 2:23PM UPDATE — The Minnesota Department of Transportation has lifted the no travel advisory on state and federal highways in Clay County. Visibility has improved in these areas, however, roads are completely snow and ice covered so motorists are advised to reduce speeds and drive according to conditions.

Important: even if state and federal highways are passable, travel may still be difficult on county, township and municipal roads. Check with local agencies for their road conditions.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol is urging motorists to stay off secondary roads and be patient for reopening of I-29 and I-94. Several motorists are using secondary roads for travel which has resulted in resources being used to rescue these motorists. Secondary roads are not being cleared. Ongoing blizzard conditions combined with snow-
packed, icy roads in the eastern part of North Dakota has led to hazardous travel conditions on all roads in the affected area. The NDHP and North Dakota Department of Transportation will reopen I-29 and I-94 as soon as weather allows, and roads are cleared. Please stay where you are and don’t travel until travel restrictions are lifted. Continue to monitor ND road conditions on the ND Roads app or NDDOT website: https://travel.dot.nd.gov. NDHP and NDDOT will notify the public via social media and updating the map when I-29 and I-94 will reopen.

Ada City Plows will be out again at 5:00am, Tuesday, December 28, 2021. Please help by removing your vehicles, trailers, etc. from the street. They will start towing vehicles that are parked longer than 24 hours after a snowfall.
