ST. PAUL – State Rep. Steve Green, R-Fosston, matched the highest score on the Legislative Evaluation Assembly of Minnesota’s 2021 scorecard and was one of select few legislators to recently earn “honoree” distinction.

The LEA reports it rated the votes of all 201 legislators on 16 selected bills. Omnibus bills on taxes, agriculture, education, energy, health and human services, and housing were included, the LEA said, along with others addressing the governor’s emergency powers, voter ID, energy policy and price gouging.

Green was one of four legislators atop the LEA ratings with a score of 92.We caught up with Representative Steve Green who calls the honor humbling.

The full report can be downloaded from the LEA website at http://lea-mn.org. The LEA indicates it is a non-partisan and non-profit organization, established to inform the citizens of Minnesota of both important legislation and the voting performance of each Minnesota state legislator.

While we had Representative Green on the phone we asked about the 2022 legislative session which gets underway on January 31st of the new year.
