(Aitkin, MN) — The Aitkin County Board of Commissioners held public hearings during their regular meeting from the Government Center Board Room on Tuesday.

John Isley from Enbridge spoke before the Board on an update with the completion of the Line 3 Pipeline Replacement and its impact on the Aitkin County communities.

Assistant County Land Commissioner Dennis Thompson presented to the Board on requesting a public hearing for the Strategic and Tactical Plan.

The public hearing was set by the Board of Commissioners for December 14th at 5pm. Following the review of the 3rd Quarter Budget, County Administrator Jessica Seibert touched on Aitkin County being registered with the National Opioid website.

Environmental Services Director Andrew Carlstrom opened up the public hearing concerning a zoning ordinance change for a third classification of a “Solid Waste Transfer Station”

The Board voted 4-0 in favor of the revision to the ordinance and will add a third classification. 

The Aitkin County Board of Commissioners is next scheduled to meet on Tuesday, November 9th at 9am from the Aitkin County Government Center Board Room.
