Polk County, Minnesota – The deadline to report fall seeded crops is approaching. Set for November 15th, this required deadline is intended for producers who planted any crops in the fall that they plan to take to harvest next year. Nathan Peterson explains these crops include winter wheat and winter rye. The acreage report can be done through scheduling a meeting with the local FSA office. This must be done to avoid late file fees. Peterson then spoke about a new program FSA has planned for later this fall.
This program is designed for farmers who drive an excess amount of miles due to the drought conditions earlier in the year. More details on the program and the sign-up start date will be available on the FSA website farmers.gov.
