(Crosby, MN) — Cuyuna Regional Medical Center and Dr. Andrew Loveitt will be presenting a virtual seminar on Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease or GERD tonight.

People suffering from GERD are invited to view the presentation with Dr. Loveitt of CRMC’s Minnesota Reflux and Heartburn Center at 6pm on the CRMC Facebook page.

GERD is caused by a weak valve that allows acid, bile, and stomach contents to flow back from the stomach into the esophagus, creating heartburn and often causing damage to the lining of the esophagus. In addition to heartburn, those who suffer from GERD experience regurgitation, hoarseness, persistent cough, asthma, bad breath, sleep disturbance, and tooth erosion.

Much more information on GERD and treatments options are available on the CRMC website and a link to their Facebook page for tonight’s seminar at 6pm is also available at rjbroadcasting.com.
