Lake Park-Audubon Discusses Social Media Safety and Violence Prevention with Students
Lake Park, MN — Last Monday, the world got a much needed break from social media while Facebook dealt with an outage. While it was only 6 hours, it gave us a reminder of how much we use and rely on social media and technology on a day-to-day basis. For us adults, that wasn’t always the case but for the youth of today, it’s all they’ve ever known. But because there is a number of dangers that come with technology and social media, the Lake Park-Audubon School District brought in a special speaker last week to discuss some of the potential consequences, according to High School Principal Art Meyer.
The Lake Park-Audubon School is also focusing on violence prevention again this year through their RIPL training. Meyer says RIPL calls for being proactive when it comes to violence by building positive relationships versus how to react when it happens.
