(Aitkin, MN) — Starting Monday, changes will be occurring on the road work for the Highway 210 project between Deerwood and Aitkin.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation says the three month detour on westbound Highway 210 between Aitkin and Deerwood was removed on October 8th. Motorists will continue to encounter roadwork and periodic lane closures in both directions, including alternate one-way traffic with flaggers as the work wraps up.
Continuing work will occur Monday-Friday, from sunrise to sunset, on good weather days. Highway 210 will also be open on the weekend in both directions. Crews will also be paving asphalt shoulders, installing road markers and finalizing any other punch-list items.
Once the work is completed in early November, the project will provide a smoother ride, reduce maintenance costs, and improve overall roadside drainage along 9 miles of Highway 210.
