(PIERZ, MN) — The city of Pierz held its first council meeting of the month of September on Monday, so we had our usual conversation with Mayor Dave Fischer to hear about what was discussed.

Fischer began by noting that the city has approved its preliminary budget and tax levy for 2022.

The proposed levy of 3.0% would be a decrease from last year’s 3.5%. In 2019, it was at 2.9%.

Fischer also provided an update on the city’s 3rd Avenue North project.

The council also heard an update on the upcoming expansion for Pierz Golf Course.

Fischer wrapped up by providing updates on some grants that the city had received and applied for.

We thank Mayor Fischer for his time. The city of Pierz will hold its next regular council meeting on September 27. Our full conversation with Fischer may be found below.
