(McGregor, MN) — The McGregor School Board acted on faculty contracts while looking at the next steps for the Nexus Bus Garage project during their regular meeting from Monday, August 30th.

Following a presentation from 4.0 School Services, the Board did consent items of the certified and non-certified seniority list, 2021-22 extra-curricular assignments, and donations totalling $5,200 from Kathy and Noelle Carlson, the McGregor Fire Department Relief Association, and the Round Lake Presbyterian Ladies Guild. 

Approval was also given to hire Tim Arnold as a volunteer Assistant Cross Country Coach, 2021-22 Membership in the MSHSL, the resignations of Mike Gauthier and Curt Serfling, and the hirings of Scott Stinson and Bret Anderson. 

Superintendent and Elementary Principal Brad Johnson opened discussion on declining bids for the construction of the new Bus Garage in order to review more bids.

The Board voted to reject the bids. Mike Jackson was hired as a temporary mechanic from August 30th-October 20th, 2021. Superintendent Johnson did talk about the beginning of the school year and the concerns with increasing COVID case positivity rates.

Activities Director Bob Staska did also speak about his concerns for the start of the High School Sports year and student attendance.

The McGregor School Board will hold a Work Session meeting on September 13th at 6pm with their next regular meeting on September 27th.
