Climax-Shelly School Board News & Notes
Climax, MN — The Climax-Shelly School Board held their regular monthly meeting last Monday, August 16th. At the meeting the board approved moving forward with a special election this fall. Climax-Shelly Superintendent Dan Dalchow says the purpose of the election is to fill a school board position and renew their current operating referendum.
The special election will be held on November 2nd.
The Climax-Shelly School Board hired a few additional paraprofessionals at this month’s meeting, but Superintendent Dalchow says they, like all districts, are still in desperate need of bus drivers.
Also approved last week was a number of policies as well as student handbooks. One new policy of interest related to discrimination against overdue lunch accounts. Dalchow notes that this year that policy is obsolete, as lunch will be free for all students again.
And the Climax-Shelly School Board discussed and approved their Return to Learn Plan, which has not changed much since earlier this summer.
The Climax-Shelly School District will be hosting a Back to School picnic and open house on Wednesday, December 1st.
